-------------------------------------------------------------- Jesse was first introduced into the world of glassblowing while still in high school and at the tender age of 16. During his first years of exploring the art of glassblowing, he took classes and practiced his technique solely in Mukilteo, at Mongrain glass studio. After discovering his love for the craft, Jesse began taking more workshops and assisting jobs all over the Northwest. Now, three years later, Jesse has been searching for his artistic inspiration in this vast medium. Up until this point, he had been focusing solely on the technical aspect in the art of glassblowing and applying it to his basic, functional forms. Lately, though, he has been striving to combine his technical abilities and knowledge with his artistic viewpoint in order to create beautiful, purposeful pieces. Always striving for perfection, Jesse is hard at work trying to make a name for himself as one of the youngest newcomers the Seattle glass scene has to offer. As a newcomer to glass, Jesse has found inspiration in the functional pieces of Boyd Sugiki, Jim Mongrain, Josie Gluck, and other glass artists who strive to mix art and craft. He has also been significantly influenced by everyday functional objects which could be created through the medium of glass. Although Jesse has begun to find his niche in bright, colorful vessels and cups, he is up for the challenge of any commission piece. In the past, he has made lighting, floats, and centerpieces upon request.
